    Intego VirusBarrierX4 10.4.4

This is due to the increased number of spam emails most of which contain viruses PC ones I prefer not to send them on to people I help and do work for.

norton corporate edition. school provides it for free, so why not.

If I was going to run antivirus software, I'd run clamXav, because it's free.

because it uses system resources and annoys the hell out of me.

I'm in the camp not using virus software. The day a virus comes out that affects a mac, I'll get virus software.

No virii. OSX has been rock-solid in that respect.

When I want to catch a virus I use Windows. There is no better way that I know of to entice a virus onto my computer. Also, opening every email you get (and don't overlook those attachments--they might have a surprise inside as well) and downloading files from porn sites help, but it all works so much better on Windows.

When it comes to viruses, Macs suck. Can't catch anything with a Mac.

    Bah! Piece of virus-free crap.

Get yourself a good Windows box. You'll catch a virus guaranteed.

Welcome to the mac. And to the Appleinsider community.

You will find yourself having much more fun and less time dealing with cruft when using the Mac. Like some have said above, just use common sense.

The last trojan, which applied to macs and pcs asked a user to download software while on a porn site. And you had to type in your administrator account to make the download proceed. Now, just how much do ya really need that porn? Still, this wasn't a virus.

Have fun and feel free to ask questions as well as letting us know your experiences on the Mac.

If you really feel the need, I second the ClamXav program. I've never had it find anything though... so not sure if it really works or not

    It does.

I downloaded it yesterday and scanned my whole drive (11 hours !).

The only thing it found was a trojan ... in the VirtualPC WinXP partition !

Ha ha, well that doesn't add to our bias, does it? Good to know it works, right?
