There any freeware/Demo harddrive formatting software for Harddrive?

Not going to get into it deeply, but is there a formatting Harddrive Uititlity software, either OS 9 or X, that goes beyond what Apple provides. I need to reformat a UWSCSI-Harddrive I have, that was interuped while I was doing a LowLevel Format/Zero Data session. Now I can not format this drive, i know its ok, because it spins up, yet it doesn't show up on the OS, neither 9 or X, under its Utilities or when i scan the buses.

Not free, but they may offer demos. Its good software to have anyway.
