Menu bar volume slider: how to disable the "blip" noise

A while ago I saw somewhere how to disable the little "blip" noise that is made after you adjust the volume in the menubar. Searching for it now, I can't find it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I just hate that noise...

You can also hold down Shift while pressing the volume keys to temporarily disable that "blip."
