<strong>It is server software... sorry. Could easily be turned into a hardware product, 1U style. Runs on Red Hat Linux 7.1 w/ Oracle 9i or Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server (x86 only) w/ Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Oracle 9i.

Actually, I would be very surprised if we didn't see this fully incorporated into Mac OS X Server. If so, it would further improve the cost/benefit of OS X Server and and hardware.
My understanding is that Apple/AOL basically built a Jabber/AIM gateway. I *think* that Rendezvous chat is essentially Jabber+discovery. Apple hands over OpenDirectory, and if Apple hooks this into OS X, we may have it as well. AOL benefits by allowing everyone onto it's network without having to *host* everyone on it's network, and a check for the privilege.
