accidentally imported gb tracks to itunes

Help! I just started putting my cd's into itunes and I accidentally imported my garageband files into itunes and they're filling up my playlists. This is pretty much my first time using itunes. I just got my imac today (monday). Anyone know how i can remove them from the list without deleting them from garageband?

    Find the Garage Band songs in your iTunes library and delete them. You'll be given the choice of deleting them from the library or moving them to the Trash. Choose just to remove them from your library.

    thanks, got it. The delete option wasn't highlighted when I was trying yesterday. I don't know what I was doing wrong yesterday.
