Apple iApps you'd like to see?
Here are mine (the names aren't important, so let's not get hung up on them...just something to call it while discussing them, okay?)

I don't know why, but I have the WORST luck with that FaxSTF thing. Just seems VERY unintuitive. I'd love for Apple to come up with a very EAST, no-brainer ONE WINDOW solution that doesn't require a manual and trips to the Address Book or whatever.

I spoke of this in another thread, but I'd like to see - either at system level (incorporated into the OS itself) or, in this example, a standalone application - a slick, easy-to-use font management tool.
I dig the iApps because a) they all work and b) you really can figure them out after just a minute or so of messing with them. Virtually no learning curve.
Anything else you'd like to see an Apple iApp for?
Hell, while I'm at it: why not an Apple browser. That way, the entire left side of my Dock is just Apple stuff (iCal, Address Book, Mail, iChat, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes, QuickTime, Sherlock and System Preferences).

This could be built in to iChat or something new like iPhone. Make it standards supporting <a href="http://www.videnet.gatech.edu/cookbook//"; target="_blank">(H.323)</a> so it would interoperate with NetMeeting and others using this standard.

I know there's stuff like this now to a more limited degree, but I think it belongs in the iApps family.

Actually, not really. Not skanky...just vixen-y. There's a fine line, but I know it when I see it.

No, she isn't on a toilet this time.
She's just shown in the frame of a video clip, fully clothed and looking normal. But I'm pretty sure it's her (same kind of hair, nose, etc.). She STILL looks good!

That's what H.323 is, a standard for video conferencing that would allow interoperability between similar programs on divergent platforms. With the cost and hassles of flying today this is an area that would give Apple some clout in the business sphere.
This is an application that if nicely integrated with iCal, iChat, and Mail could make some inroads into the M$ Exchange domination that holds business users back from platform change.

It's called iSync.

All Cocoa apps automatically get access to the system-wide spell-check.
Im sure Apple would be able to pull this one off no worries.
They could use mpeg 4 as the codec via Quicktime or whatever, as long as the app is compatible with PCs and is useable over dial-up as well as ASDL.
Here's a few extra functions I'd like to see included...
1: Ability to save a video conference to hard disc or DVD-R .
2: Multi-user interface (have a few different users on-line at the same time in different windows on the desk top).
3: sync with iChat.
An Apple video conferencing app with cross platform compatibility has IMHO the potential to be one of the biggest and best iApps to date!
1) iPhone -
Feature 1- iApp -The ability to make PC-PC calls and PC-Phone calls. However there is a second element. The address book integrates into the picture when receiving calls and used when dialing. As stated in an earlier thread, the address book should be sync-able to the web via iSync. This is similar to the integration between the SE T68i and Apple Bluetooth.
Feature 2- Web based iPhone through .Mac allowing you to log in and make use of the same calling technology and since your address book is now sync-able, your addressbook contacts are within reach, especially when traveling.
Feature 3 - The iPhone Digital device. This Airport connected wireless phone sits in your living room like normal cordless phones. When you want to make a call, you dial and it automatically connects to your computer and makes the call via your iApp(feature 1) or the ,Mac service (feature 2). It would be great to see this built into the iPod and use a Bluetooth headset.
Feature 4 ? Answering Machine. Application will record incoming calls under multiple mailboxes. Recognizes multi-line services with full remote retrieval and remote notification options.
2) Video Conferencing -
Video conferencing using the industry protocols so it would work with people on other computers and platforms. Multi-window feature allowing you to view everyone on the conference without togglng video windows. As stated in previous thread--Ability to save a video conference to hard disc or DVD-R. Can be used with USB/FW webcams or regular Camcorder.
3) iWatch - PVR technology built into the computer. Feature 1- Used with Airport, anyone with permissions could watch the recorded media.
Feature 2- With a .Mac account, you can log in and access your computer system to watch your recorded media. .Mac could activate your Quicktime broadcaster program for this functionality.
Feature 3 - Also with .Mac account, you can log in and and manage your recording times and schedules.
Feature 4 - Recorded media could then be sync-able via the ipod, which of course, should be able to play video.
4) Surround Sound - This is not necessarly an iApp, but since this is the software message board, I though I would add it. Apple should be adding 6.1 surround capability to their computers. Creative professionals can build surround sound movies with FCP and build a DVD with DVD SP, but would have to go elsewhere just to hear how it sounds prior to completing the project. Secondly, it might help Apple stay competitive since all other manufacturers have this capability.
5) iSync additional functions: Sync Favorites/Bookmarks to the .Mac service or other Mac computers.

And as for the video conferencing, all that I previously stated and another important feature...the ability to connect a DV camcorder via firewire to use as the web cam utilising either the cams mic or other connected audio input device.
