New Nightly Build Of Chimera 0.6...New Features

Just downloaded the 12/20 nightly after seeing this article on <a href="http://www.macnn.com/news.php?id=17816"; target="_blank">MacNN</a>.

A few new GUI things (toolbar buttons for tabs, history tab in drawer). Some new support for Real. Seems to be about as fast. Not too shabby.

Those things have all been in there for a long time. In fact, there really haven't been a lot of major changes in the last week altogether. If you read the CVS checkins, you'll see that practically nothing has been updated in the past week.

Still, I suppose it's nice for someone to point out the changes from time to time between official updates.

i think things are still updated underthehood even when we dont see check-ins because there are times when there has been no checkins but daily updates and the updates were definately different...

Are you sure? I pull the dailies rather frequently and I can never (well, "never" being since they hooked up the checkin page) recall encountering improvements or added features that do not have the appropriate cvs entries.

seems faster to me....still growing, but my browser over 90% of the time...run, do not walk, to <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14326"; target="_blank">here</a> to download the 12/20 nightly.....g

I got the new build... now Chimera won't even start. First it would hang when trying to load a page, now it hangs on the startup screen. I dunno what's going on. I'm using OmniWeb in the meantime.

    EDIT: Trying the 12/21 build...

2nd EDIT: Nope, 12/21 has the same problem of never loading. Maybe it's my low RAM, the disk is constantly accessing when it's loading. I'll have more in a few days.

Brad what i mean by improvents is I think they are doing either optimizing or updating the gecko engine....there was a build a while back that was much smaller and before that build no entries were filled..speaking of which...the 12-21 build is better for me then the 12-20 build...the 12-20 build would give me lots of stall before rendering pages...it could have been my connection that day but I don't think so cause I didnt have the problem before I installed the 12-20 build...

    12-22 build is faster still....

Something is up...why would they release that.6 nightly on version tracker? I think it was to get more feedback....and I think they might be going from .60 to 1.0 and might be shooting to do that for Macworld Sanfransisco...remember there was some article that stated the percentage of different browsers..IE had over %95! so chimera probably has way less than 1% My point is that we know about this thing and it's great...but we are basically a bunch of geeks...as far as the realworld is concerned there is only one brower and that is IE....well until Steve Jobs get's in to the picture
