Leopard startup time

Hi there,

Until yesterday I had a problem with our new iMac (24in, September 2007) , the Finder kept crashing constantly. So I reinstalled Leopard and immigrated all the accounts information with Time Machine, wich worked very well, everything seems to work normal again.

The only problem is the startup time of the machine.

It keeps taking about one and a half minute till the computer is responsible after startup.

I already cleaned most cashes and removed all startup items, but no results.

There seems to be a problem with some startup processes.

use the beta version of onyx and clear all types of system caches.

It is Apple's dashboard widget update process. Can be ignored.

These can be ignored as well. It is scheduled for fix by Apple as per the macforge forums.

I did clean al the system cashes, but it doesn't seem to help very much.

I think I can live with an upstart time of 1 minute, it isn't that much in comparison with our old windows pc

My issue was a bad hard drive. I waiting to see what happens after I get it back. Would be on the White sreen / grey logo & gearwheel for a couple minutes and then all the sudden the login screen was there.
