How do I backup my Leopard DVD?

yes, i really do mean back up. i have a family pack leopard install disc but i'm notorious for losing system install discs. i don't know why. is there a way to actually back up the disc just so i'm sure i have a copy in case of loss or damage to the original?

    I think that if you keep those cupons that come with it you can get a new one from the apple store

    I needed to created a backup of my Tiger and Leopard disks. If I remember correctly, I used Toast, but I think you can use Disk Utility to create a disk image and then copy that image (as a disk) to an dual layer DVD.

    Put the disk in and mount it. Open Disk Utility, highlight the "Leopard InstallDVD" and click create image. Select CD/DVD master and OK.

    okay, thanks. then i can restore it back to a dual layer dvd right?
