in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
im wondering why none of the big porn studios have tried to get into the whole itunes deal. even playboy seeing how they have stuff everywhere there own sat radio channel cable tv channel website. i see it as the next evolution of the industry. i can see alot of people saying no cuz of kids but kids watch tv and listen to the radio too. i think thats a parents job to supervise there kids and not push it off to others. idk it just ooccured to me so i thought id see wat you all thought.

as you said, kids. there's no way to keep kids from downloading porn and apple probably just doesn't want to be affiliated with porn.

There are enough avenues out there to get porn and the associated malware and litigation. It will be bad for something that appeals to the masses to go down that route.

Softcore playboy (no or limited nudity) could pass on iTunes, but I don't think Playboy is interested.

You will ever see Apple with porn in the I-Tunes store just like you don't see Sony doing anything to facilitate porn on blue ray...

As far as getting porn in digital form,,, it is available in everything from cell phones to full 1080p.

yea i know its available that was my point.

as for blu-ray a few studios have gone blu-ray only. saw it on engadget.com awhile back

iTunes already has explicit tag for podcasts, why not give the content adult tag? There are parental controls implemented already.

Then again I live in europe, and we are way more open-minded about nudity, If superbowl wardrobe malfunction had happened here, people would just have yawned and moved on.

I'm glad iTunes isn't riddled with porn. It's nice to be able to download stuff from somewhere that doesn't have it splashed all over the place. I hope Apple and iTunes keep it that way. (And I'm European - half Dutch in fact!)

You do realize that it doesn't have to be splashed all over, and profanity filter would remove it complitely from your sight. The point is more about supply and demand, it would be stupid/hypocritical to claim that people wouldn't want to buy it.

    Associated malware and litigation? FUD.

iTunes already has plenty of movies that are totally not okay for children. Where is the litigation?

Do you get malware off reputable, major porn sites? Where would you get malware on iTunes?

The App Store, which is part of iTunes, is full of pornographic applications. There may not be actual videos to download, but these applications have built-in porn or can download pictures, videos and even interactive porn. There's one app where you caress a naked woman in various spots and she "responds" to the touches. No porn on iTunes? Right, whatever. Don't kid yourself, Apple is cashing in on porn, albeit through licensing third-party applications (meanwhile there are plenty of non-porn apps languishing because Apple has not deigned to approve them).

This is clearly parallel to the music industry:iTunes Store - in other words an online digital Record Store.

It comes down to the consumer experience. Yes, you can download music for free but there are pros and cons - it's not official so there is less piece of mind, you don't always know if you're getting the complete package, the selection is not as big, the quality is unclear, it's not a friendly experience.

History will tell you what will probably happen: It starts underground and becomes mainstream. It happened with the computer and then with music available through the net.
