Why no wireless superdrive with Apple Air?

You have to plug it in. That's just dumb.

    It would be much more expensive if it had to have built in AirPort, controller and so on.

    Wireless USB might have been nice...but another radio in there is probably pushing it.

    Yeah about the superdrive. Its taking the power to run from the macbook air so thats why you need the plug.

    It works wirelessly from another computer. I wonder if it would work plugged into a time capsule?

    How long until the Wireless Disk feature becomes available for AppleTV so I can actually watch my DVDs wirelessly via AppleTV?



    That would be such a great feature: not only can you rent new movies, but you can also watch any DVD you already own or a friend brings along by placing the DVD into any Mac or PC drive.

    No need to rip the DVD, no need to transfer it, etc. Play right there and then.



    Strange that they added this feature to MacBook Air but not to the new Apple TV software.
