80 GB Ipod Classic & Philips Portable Docking DVD player
The video does not seem to function on a Philips DCP850 portable DVD player when the Ipod is docked, sound, charging, and some functions (remote)work. Ipod states not connected. Is there a difference between the older 80 GB Ipod and the newer classic in terms of the docking connector?

Do you have the iPod set to TV out
Have a look at page 33

Yes - the problem is the docking plug. The Ipod does not see it. Tried this with two different Ipods.
As I understand, all new iPods require that the device be Apple certified to support video. I saw a new Philips iPod player at CES. It is certified by Apple.
