Well, each of the last 3 keynotes I have sold my system to buy a new one. Last one I sold my DP533 for the DP800. I might be disappointed if I gain only a similar increase, but its fun to play the game!

The Clio has had the same functionality (albeit with a different design) for years, without the incredible force that would be placed on the pivot point of such a clipper hinge.

There is a reason you don't see clipper hinges on things bigger than toe-nail clippers. They are called lines of stress. It would make nice fracture patterns on the iBook screen though.

I think the "iPencil" and "iPaper" was more cost effective than an $800 3D app for a simple visual representation of an idea.

okay the only way i see pscates idea of the cube replacing the imac is

Apple must combine there lcd display with the cube u can choose what size

The reason? simple NEW ADC...and NEW LCD PANELS

    What does it do?

firewire (or gigawire that new thing everyone says is coming) and usb on through the ADC to the ports on the Screen. simple as can be i think

again this is the only way i see this happening

but i don't see it happening i think the cube is still far off

REMEMBER JOBS SPOKE OF THE IMAC HAVING SUPERDRIVES IN 2002

not saying there gonna get one now just saying its going to happen late this year and that means the imac is here to stay

Just thought I'df how this could be applied to the iMac, possibly even making the entire unit a web pad/tablet:

The "iClip" is a cool idea...

You could design a touch sensitive scroll wheel into the clipper hinge too...

    I like this idea...

I am sure someone at applele.com will come up with a mock-up of the iClipper soon...
