Possible Secret Meaning in "Count the...."
First of all, there are two versions of this message. I will be ignoring the one in the ALT text, which says hours instead of minutes.
[quote]Count the days.

Six days means six new macs.
[quote]Count the minutes.

Six days times 24 hours per day times 60 minutes per hour equals 8640. First of all, this number is close to 8500. (The G5 is the PowerPC 8500.)
Now let's look at a fairly optimistic possibility for six new macs at MWSF.
Powermacs:
1.2 Ghz G5
1.6 Ghz G5
1.4 Mhz dual G5
iMacs:
933 Mhz G3 or G4
1 Ghz G3 or G4
1.1 Ghz G3 or G4
Let's add this up:
1200 + 1600 + (1400 * 2) + 933 + 1000 +1100 = 8633, which is as close as you can get to 8640.
[quote]Count on being blown away

Perhaps this refers to the previous specs, which would blow away the general public and some of the more pessimistic AI members. Or maybe it's a reference to an all new digital hub device (maybe iFan ).
Is it a coincidence? Probably. But maybe Apple IS trying to drop us a hint or three....

Then following your formula, the day before being 1 day left means only 1 new mac?

I think the message will change before then.
Then will you have a secret meaning for each daily message?

Perhaps. Maybe each message has a hidden meaning; maybe only some do. And, of course, the meanings may be too well hidden for me.

Does anyone remember the hype for AI? They set up teasers on a webpage where you had to solve puzzles to get closer to finding clues for stuff about the movie (or somthing like that, I dono i never did it, i just read about it). Anyways, why couldnt apple do something like this? Im sure all of you would pay for it. Imagine playing "games" (kinda like what you are doing now) to find out what the new computers are. The best thing is, Apple could make the games last as long as they wanted to so their surpise could be kept secret if they wanted.
Anyone have a clue as to what I am talking about?

Special Edition "Count" iMacs! Collect and count (and count again) them all!
Apple's new spokesperson! (goodbye and good riddance, Mr. Goldblum! )

Oh dear - I'll bet you have a real doozy of a theory behind "Twin Peaks" as well...
Cheers,
Mark.

I don't think so. One person would pay and then post whatever info he/she got onto the board.
I know I know!

Yeah, you boot up the iMac and the Count will count up to 10 for Mac OS X and then the sound of his AHH HA HA HA laughing and thunder and lightning fill the room.
I'd buy that for a dollar
I know what you're talking about but your theory is insane.

Exactly. This is the kind of madness that leads people to religion.
(ducks)
Out of curiosity what does your numerology make of the "big by our standards" message?

PLEASE tell me you're being silly and lighthearted. That's the most overreaching, looking-too-hard analysis I've EVER read on this forum...and believe me, that's saying quite a lot.
If you're joking, then "hahaha!"
If you're not, you need to grab the reins a bit and stop listening to Art Bell so much.

I won't argue this one.

One possibility is that this is a reference to the G5, which is big in speed, size (I think), # of transistors, price (maybe), hype, etc.

Glad to see we're honest!
heh seriously tho. Does anyone remember the website that this started from? I remember hearing about it for the first time when Jack and Katie of AtAT went on their honeymoon and some comic-strip did AtAT-Style humor for the week. Anyone rememebr the comic strip? It is about this rich guy who bought the international space station and took his friends along... very funny actually... WHAT IS THE NAME? I CAN'T REMEMBER!!!!

Yes, I am being silly and lighthearted. No, I am not crazy. (Except for the type of craziness referred to by my "Here's to the crazy ones" Apple T-shirt.) However, I would argue that this is better evidence than most of the stuff you see in this forum.

Took me a while, but I found it. Why am I quoting myself? I dunno...
