Anyone looking to try Pixelmator should grab it today. It's MacUpdate's Promo of the Day.
I got Pixelmator as part of the MacHest II bundle. So far I've only scratched the surface and that's overstating a bit but it seems to have promise. I think the guys behind it are planning a 1.5 or 2.0 version so I expect to see rapid enough evolution.
I want antialiasing on the magic wand tool. I can't seem to use Pixelmator for knocking out backgrounds, as the edges look fugly. (Feather works to an extent, but it's fiddly).

Have you tried using the magic wand in Preview in Leopard, it's brilliant.

Pixelmator: $60
Photoshop Elements: $90
PS Elements has custom brushes and a large number of supported filters.
Pixelmator's GUI is nice but I'd take Elements any day.

I've used it a few times, and it's pretty darned buggy.
It's less buggy in its latest version.
