Help Me Identify A Singer

OK. Tonight at a gathering, we were all sitting around listening to Paolo Nutini, and the entire time a friend and I sat there trying to figure out who he sounds like. He sounds exactly like another singer, and I just can't place it. It's not James Blunt. It's not Ray LaMontaigne. It's not Vic Chestnutt. It's not Dan Bern. It's not Ellis Paul. It's not Bonnie Prince Billy. Not Damien Rice. Not Jack Johnson.



I can't place it, and it's driving me nuts.



Help!

Here's a link to iTMS. Specifically, it's the songs "These Streets" and "Autumn" where he sounds like someone else I can't place.

    Well to me he sounds like a cross between Blunt and Lenny Kravitz.

    Thought the first few bars of "These Streets" sounded a bit Paul Simon-ish but the gravelly bits screwed that. His intonation reminds me a bit of Paul Simon too.

    Sounds like a mixture of Tracy Chapman and Chris Martin (of Coldplay).

    Is Brett Dannen who you were thinking of maybe, Midwinter? Though I don't find the voice all that similar...

    The intonation on "Autumn" sounds a hell of a lot like David Gray.

    I thought that, too. But it's not who I'm thinking of.
