Office 2008 is out. Wasn't Messenger suppose to release a few months after it?

I don't think Microsoft is still working on a new version of Mac Messenger.

If you don't use webcam, use Adium.

If you use webcam, use aMSN. The new version works great, though still has some annoyances (notifications are pretty poor and there's no drag and drop).

Both Mercury and aMSN are somewhat flawed MSN programs, both supporting video, that work better in their latest incarnation than in original builds.

aMSN is written in Tcl/Tk (a Unix framework that works on Carbon) and Mercury is written in Java. Mercury used to be DOG slow, but it's ok now. aMSN is much nicer now, but doesn't support drag and drop or dock notification.
