I too will be purchasing a 15" MBP tomorrow if there's an update, but only if there's an update.. I like the current version of the pro, but I've been waiting a long time (since early '07). So I finally made my decision to buy the current MBP last month, then, all this speculation of a new and improved pro got me all riled up. If Macbook Pro makes an appearance now, I'll buy, but I'll only wait until this speculative March 17th date to put off purchasing the current version.

Sorry for me being a bit confused, but has 10.5.2 just been released this evening??? Someone predicted the MBP update to come out just after this release??

This will be my first mac and I am bloody excited to see what happens tomorrow so will go on about it and speculate until my heart is content, sorry for any annoyance! If there is to be an update will it be early in the morning US time or late at night US time? I am in the UK so will be 5 hours ahead what ever happens!

The 24" iMac will continue to be useless for the professional market until there is a way for users to upgrade the hard drive. Actually, I can't understand why any user - home user, student or pro - should be forced to hand over an iMac to an Apple technician with confidential information on their hard drive.

i disagree. for the majority of users i would hazard to guess this wouldn't be such a huge concern, and there are simple ways to get around it.

I am a former employee of the only Apple Authorized Repair Center here in Chattavegas, and while I agree that it would be great if Apple created machines that could be upgraded by a savvy user, the iMac of all of the machines Apple makes is the most difficult to work on. Well, at least it was when they had the white poly-carbonate plastic, and a friend of mine is still employed at this same shop and says that the new model is just as bad. Many of the parts just snap off and on, and it would be very easy for a consumer to ruin the case.

As to the confidential info, none of the tech's give a crap about what porn you prefer to look at, but if you are among the few, the proud, the extremely paranoid, I have a suggestion.

Create an Admin account on the machine, complete with password, and then never use it.

Be sure to remember the password for this admin account so that you can provide it to the tech and they have full admin rights without being able to view your personal stuff.

So, is everyone thinking tomorrow? Any info from anywhere that would cause this idea?

Don't get me wrong! I WOULD LOVE FOR IT TO BE TOMORROW! But, I like many others, have been disappointed several times in the past couple of months, and would like to get excited, but would like to know where this idea/info is coming from....

Ok, cool. Any idea what time? I know that this is a bit of a stretch, but I am in school full time and I am a retail manager and I have to close tomorrow night, so I am wondering if I will have time to watch the event before I have to go in at 2PM EST....

    No event--apple.com

With 10.5.2 just being released, it's unlikely they had time to get it in the new MBP boxes. I doubt the new MBP will come out today; when it does come out it'll hopefully be superfly enough to reward us for our waiting (and of course come out with immediate availability).

Well I have been on quite a few forums discussing this update, and many think the potential dates are today, next tuesday or mid march. I am holding some hope for an update today but I am trying not to get too excited!
