iPhoto - wishlist
virtually every new digital camera nowadays has a built-in function to record *little movies*.
however, iphoto does not import these files ... meaning you have to switch to another *capture app* if you want to import such files + you can't archive this files together with your photos ...
with quicktime integrated so tightly into macos this doesn't strike me as a feature that would be too difficult to implement or too much to ask for?
am i the only one who finds this lacking

Call me old fashioned, but I still use Image Capture, organize the folder (keep or toss... blurry or sharp) and then drag photos into iPhoto.
I do like the way iPhoto allows me to flip the pictures without affecting the original (less chance of image loss) but the speed on my dinosaur desktop is truly bad. Even when it is just redrawing or scrolling a screen.
For the movies, though, it would be nice for iPhoto to incorporate an automatic save into a specifically named folder for movies. I mean, how many do you save compared to pictures. Do you need to include them in the main library or would a separate library/folder be more convenient?
well, i just came back from a vacation with a couple hundred photos and 7 videoclips (320x240, 1-2 min. each). now when i show these to family and friends, i have to stop my iphoto slide show go to the finder, locate the clip (that belongs to a particular set of photos) and look at it through quicktime.
i could of course install canon's app that came with the camera ... but that wouldn't really be the same, would it?
i don't even care about editing functions for these clips - i can do that in quicktime (would be nice if imovie could handle these kind of formats, though ...).
i just think that it would add to the slickness- and ease-factor if the clips and photos were together in one location and one app.

This is what iMovie 3 is all about.
I would think that Apple would likely provide THOSE applications with the way of downloading the small video clips from the camera. iMovie seems most logical at that.
BTW...I think we are seeing just the BEGINNING of these apps all playing together.
