Hey,

My brother just got an order for his app Podworks from...yes... the Wozman himself. Isn't that cool!? Are there any <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=17443&db=mac"; target="_blank">Podworks</a> users out there on AI?

how do you know for sure that it's Steve Woz himself that bought it? Did you scan his IP? Did he call in?

the first reader question on <a href="http://www.woz.org"; target="_blank">www.woz.org</a>

    [quote]A Reader Asks:

    Dear Woz,

When you call Apple to order stuff and you give them your name, do people recognize you and say "Hey, your that dude that created Apple!"

Woz: I order Apple stuff online. I doubt that any human ever sees the names. But once I ordered a gigabit ethernet option. Apple noticed two months later that only two of these had been ordered, both by me! I do get noticed every time I buy shareware, and that brings me a lot of T-shirts that I get good use out of. <hr></blockquote>

    Give the guy a break, it's a celebrity sighting and he's just a shareware author; I don't believe he made any express anonymity claims. It's not <a href="http://www.stevemartin.com/television/snl.php"; target="_blank">Steve Martin's Penis Beauty Cream</a> we're talkin aboot, it's <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=17443&db=mac"; target="_blank">Podworks</a>.

I think we don't any info about Woz buying any of the former product... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

Point is, some unscrupulous individuals (and I'm not making any implications here) might choose to plaster "as used by the Woz" banners all over their website, which is a bit of a no-no without his express permission.

That said, I can appreciate the thrill that comes from being associated with a product Woz considers good enough to hand over his hard-earned for.

Ok, let me state this DIFFERENTLY: We will always keep our names and addresses confidential, except for this case, in which I am saying Woz bought it... if you think I'm bad, look at the media and the way they spy on stars...
