Agreed.
Too bad for Juno: only Best Sreenplay. Ellen Page was awesome. In fact, she was also awesome in Hard Candy (a couple of years ago). She has a very bright future. But No Country was a worthy best-picture.
who cares it's just another way hollywood pushes it's self promotion and agenda, i don't see movies because of them, only if others i know recommend a movie. it's becoming irrelevant
but i think they need to make the theater experience better with more movies in digital 3-D
This year's Oscars just seemed more boring than usual. John Stewart was occasionally funny, but the whole show just had an extreme air of mediocrity, the people watching it with me agreed.
It is also the first year I haven't seen a single one of the best picture/director/screenplay nominations, though Juno looks interesting. They all had that 'rent it' air about them for some reason.

Ugh Ratatouille won.
For damn good reason. It was a beautifully done movie all around.
That category wasn't even a contest.

Jon Stewart is great.

It usually isn't. But Persepolis was outstanding.
I'm sure you've seen it.

She was a stripper before she won an Oscar. Craziness.
She's also awesome.

I actually have.
Animation is one of my passions.
I wouldn't make a comment like I did without seeing all films in the category.

Ah, I skipped "Surf's Up."
Can't blame me.
It's actually a funny and cute film.
