new MacBook Pro 1920 x 1200 in 17"...?

Apple.com says we can have 1920 x 1200 pixels LED display in 17" MacBookPro.

1920x1200 is a native resolution from 24" displays. Does it mean resolution independence working already or how small the cursor will look?

    The only thing it means is that Apple is trying to fill demand for the people who want as many pixels as they can get and for those who want to do some 1080 HD work on the 17" MBP. It's really not unusual. 1920x1200 resolution was offered on the previous Merom 17" MBP. The only thing new here is the glossy screen and the LED backlighting. On the PC side of the house, 1920x1200 (or 1600x1200) has been offered on 15" and 17" laptops for long long while now.



    It wouldn't be a bad idea for Apple to offer a 1680x1050 resolution option for the 15" MPB and a 1440x900 option for the MB/MBA either. Options like these can increase Apple profit margins! Assuming they can handle the inventory, supplier and manufacturing costs...



    Anyways, Apple has a tremendously slim and targeted laptop linup with only 4 models with very few BTO options. I can easily foresee 10 models with a whole lot of BTO options spanning from 10" screens to 19" screens. 4 to 5 Apple display options too.

    I used a Dell 8600 for over 4 years which has a 15,4 inch screen with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution.



    I got used to it and liked the fact that I had all the space I need. Of course you need 100 correct functioning eyes I would appreciate it if the 15 inch Macbook Pro will be offered with 1680 x 1080 resolution as the current resolution is a little to low for my needs. But the high resolution in the 17 inch macbook pro is certainly a good alternative.
