new product is already in the Apple stores

now i'm not sure if anybody cares about this...but i do know that at the apple stores new products arrive early and are then locked in the management's office- so no one, not even employs can see what's in until it is officially out. anyway, they have something in, and the doors are locked already....so what ever is coming at the expo is already there, i think i would make a point of getting to an Apple store right after Job's keynote address...it will be lovely, almost as good as being in SF.

How do ypu know this? And are talking about Apple's own retail stores? Do you work at one of them? If so, which one.

you'd be surprised what a couple of bricks, an axe, a digital camera and a fast car could do for us.

Not true. New Product does not have to be shipped this early. There's a service called Overnight Express. Apple would not want leaks to occur. Stop making up stories. (Oh I forgot, this is a rumor site).

Usually when the apple introduces a new product, the stores don't get demo units to show till the next day....

Yeah! The P1 is in stores at Sears right now! If you give them $3000, they'll give you one!

it's funny the way these things turn out. i don't think this is such a absurd statement. it's perfectly possible. anyway i'll tell you how i know this to be true. i was in an 'Apple Store', and i was talking to an employee about the new dvd/cdrw powerbooks....and he mentioned to me that a few days before they were put out, he knew something was coming down because the manager's door was locked, and as with the ipod....something was in there, and it turned out to be the powerbooks. anyway as he was saying this, another employee overheard, and commented that the doors were locked again, and that something was already in there, ready for Job's address. and then i mentioned the flat screen imac, and it sort of ended the conversation because they then realized that maybe they shouldn't have said all this in front of me. beleive it or not....i don't really care. it's not like i'm speculating about some new product, i'm just saying that something is already there and it will be put out when it's announced. i'm going to an 'Apple Store' on that day, so i can see it first hand. hopefully that clears everthing up.

Don't try sneaking up to any Apple related place, Steve or one of his minions could shoot a RDF ray at you before you could say "MWSF!"

Will the apple stores be showing the keynote live? Didn't know that. Might make the trek to New Jersey.

whil i would say yes, I don't think so because it's PT and not ET. They did the NY show because it was ET I believe. They'd have to cut away from one of their scheduled shows.

First of all, the TechTV post above is a good point. TechTV might break in Live, but when they have actual shows on, they might not.

Second of all, I think you need an 'invitation' to see the keynote at Apple retail stores.

TechTV's scheduled programming during the day consists of reruns of Call for Help and Tomorrow's World mixed in with a bit of lame financial reports. They would have much better ratings if they showed the keynote.

Instead of going to Tice's Corner, you could always go to Palisades instead if you want since they're about 15-20 min away from each other.

To clear things up, no we (Apple Stores) do not have the product in the managers office. The office is remained locked at all time and you must know a code to get in, and only the managers know this

specifically, in response to Jared, i wasn't suggesting that someone should try and enter the manager's office at your nearest Apple store...that would be absurd and illegal. i was suggesting that your stores might be a good place to be during the Expo, because as new products come out there is a good chance they might go on display immediatly in one of your stores. i heard two employess say that there is something ready for the expo, so i think i'll be sticking with their opinion. if it's not true then...oh well there are worse things that could happen. i am quite surprised that you as an Apple employee would be on here talking and secondly wouldn't want people to be at your stores ready to buy whatever comes out....not good promotion. we'll soon find out the truth.

An Apple employee yes, with no inside information. I have the rights to do as I choose as a human being. And, I never said I do not want customers at the store
