Logic 6 is the mutt's nuts

Just installed it on my Dual 533, I've only had it for a couple of hours but I love it to bits already. Applemagic are to be congratulated, the new Channel EQ and Analyser are superb, the marquee tool is just fantastic and so intuitive for cuts and stuff. Time stretch in the arrange window, nice, new algorithms, nicer still. Oh bum i haven't even got round to the new Freeze function, I'm off to overload my CPU and then magically get lots of headroom back by the power of freezing. 10 out of 10. <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

Alex you haven't used the Freeze function yet

Man folks are going Ga Ga over that. I think you'll like it ...especially if you love using plugins.

Give a man a chance I've just done some freezing and yeah it's very cool though it's not immediate, in needs time to render the frozen file(s). Nice to see someone from the osxaudio and sonikmatter boards here, my name there is boojiboy. Hope you get your upgrade soon- it really is fantastic. All the best- Alex

Actually I'll be buying Logic as soon as I purchase my next Mac. Don't know what that Mac is going to be. I'm also looking for a decent piano controller. I'm a Sax player but I think I can tickle the Ivories a bit with a little practice.

Ahhh Apple's gonna take me for a mint in the next 2 years.

So does anyone have any idea when the rest of the logic line will go 6. I really need to buy but I cant really afford plat and dont think I need the features it gives me over gold. I have been waiting months already for 6, should I just buy gold 5 and upgrade later, is the current 5.x version reliable?

Can anybody comment on how well Logic 6 does in OS X with audio (as opposed to midi)? For example, things like multitracking vocals? Also, what audio hardware does it work with? Will it work fine with the G4's built in Audio In jack or does it require some sort of external hardware?

I have to decide between Logic 6 and Pro Tools for OS X... I'm leaning towards Logic right now. Does Logic work with the MOTU 828 FW interface?
