Network maintenance...

not too long ago (maybe a year...) I read about some software that apple runs at the apple stores to mantain the machines each night.... it was written by an employee and provided openly on his idisk

it would automatically re-install all the software onto the computers each night, so any damage done by the customers would be automatically fixed by the morning...



does anyone remember the webpage or have a copy? or any ideas about writitng something like this?



I am helping to maintain the emacs in the SLSC of my uni and they are looking for a solution like this....

any help is apprecieated....

    I'm afriad I can't help you, but find it funny Apple reinstalls there software every night. I didn't know that. Makes sense, but, haha, they sure don't do that a Comp USA.

    Write a perl script that runs on a crontab that replaces the application in question every night or week.
