UPDATE: I received an email from someone well placed (ie saying, I can not check) in SFR to tell me that the 3G iPhone is also being tested. Apple it would change its tactics in order to provide wider distribution?

Sure they would be - this doesn't come as a surprise. If the thing is getting released in the next few months, it has to be pretty damn near finalized, hardware-wise so production can begin.

For your information, SFR is the French partner of Vodafone.

So, this could not be a surprise to see tow carriers selling the 3G iPhone in France...
