Yeah, I get that too. To work around it, right click on the link, and choose "open link in new tab"

I also thought some would be interested in the auto fill. Here's a screenshot when I first saw it take action at Version Tracker. I was looking for some iPhoto helpers, and I found the auto fill. It seems to default to the most recent item, but arrange the list in alphabetical order if there's more than one option.

Hmmmm... Another thing I'm noticing is it has an annoying habit of unfinishing extracting .dmg files. It's done downloading, but it just doesn't talk to disk copy correctly. Ant then it messes up disk copy, and you can't open it manually.

I guess that's what you get for an unreleased beta, eh?

My understanding is that it's okay to download this because it's an open source project.

    </strong><hr></blockquote>

Safari itself is not an open source project, rather the HTML engine it uses is open source. It's not okay to post links to Safari v64 or to discuss a means of getting it. *cough*Paul*cough*

Can anyone using one of the leaked builds with tabs tell me what happens if a tab opened in the background times out after 60 seconds, requires a password or otherwise demands attention.

edit: It would also be helpful if you could try the same thing with a window opened in the background.

And pray tell good sir, on which server resides thy Safari v64?

EDIT: Heh, whoops, I didn't see this second page . I'm getting it myself, without the aid of others. Wait. I'm not getting it *wink*. Uhm. Right. Nothing to see here... move along... these aren't the droids we're looking for.

Reason #843 why I am waiting for official releases; stability.

[ 03-10-2003: Message edited by: stupider...likeafox ]</strong><hr></blockquote>Well, I finally found a site that doesn't respond in 60 seconds. If you have an unfocused tab in the current window that times out, a sheet scrolls down (without changing tabs) and tells you about it.

If you have an unfocused tab in a window behind the current window, and the link times out, Safari switches windows, scrolls down the error sheet, but doesn't change the tab.

Hopefully that's coherent. It's tough explaining these tabs.

I've been using 64 for a day now. Imported all my camino bookmarks...

I'm a happy new Safari user.

Tabs changed it for me. As I said first time, as soon as tabs were implemented, I'd give it a spin. So here I am

Also with the "enhancer" software, got rid of the crap Metal interface.

Yeah, that's in the debug of some of the earlier (public) releases too. I laughed pretty hard when I saw that.

STOP ASKING HOW TO GET PIRATED SOFTWARE

this isnt a joke... I don't want to see AI shut down... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" /> I wouldn't put it past Apple OR our current "management" if they happen to get a "NDA breach" letter from apple....

    Paul...

Here's my list of software i legaly use:

    Photoshop 7

    Illustrator 10

    Office X

AfterEffect (i don't remebmer which ver, but os 9)

    Premiere

    InDesign

    Quark (ehhh)

    Keynote

    Lotus Notes

    Acrobat

    a shedloads of utilities...

So as u can see i'm not into pirating software.

Don't u think that many people just want to see the latest release?

Just to get your hands on it, even if it's total piece of junk...

    relax,

besides it is build on open source and it will be released as free software (i know it's not a excuse, but just lighten up..)

How can AI be in violation of NDA when they haven't signed a NDA?

    It's a Mac tradition to download pre-release software. Even I've got v.64, and I hardly ever d/load pre-release stuff.

Unless there is a post directly linking to a download, or containing v.64 pics, I doubt Apple would ever move to shut down discussion.

I noticed a problem with Safari today. Pressing the "Stop" button while a page is loading is really flawed, because it gives too much priority to loading the page, and not enough to responding to your mouse click. Basically, what ends up happening is that I tell it to stop, and it ignores me until it's done loading the page. By the time it's done loading the page, it has turned the stop button into a reload button, which ends up loading the same page AGAIN that I didn't want to load in the first place. Repeat multiple times until frustrated user just puts up with the page loading completely and presses back a few times to get to where he wants to be.

Safari really should have separate Stop and Reload buttons. And the Bookmark button should look more different from the Stop button than it currently does. I think the entire toolbar needs to be more customizable... I want to rearrange the icons and everything, but all I'm allowed to do is select which buttons I want.

    Hi

I was all for tabs, but now somehow i don't like them...

    At least in Safari.

I still like Chimera (i mean Camino, heh) better.

0.7 really rocks, and with Safari-like buttons looks great.
