Finder icon replacements. Sorry guys, but just like I think a find (aka, "search") should be added to the FINDer, I think an icon that suggests finding stuff should be part of the app.

Replacements for the Three-Bears Cottage "Home" icon.

TONS of folder icons. I'd like to use those like crazy, though apparently I have no imagination for creating them given that I tried using that Folder Icon shareware app and came out with all of 1 new icon.

it may seem trivial enough... but I haven't been able to find a single Yahoo! Messenger icon. I found an alphabet icon set at Xicons (love that place) and just copy and pasted a "Y" for the moment... but it looks a bit... plain.

Dammit, I had a whole list of ideas, now I forgot. Grrr.

If someone could come up with a tutorial of sorts perhaps we could all give OSX icons a shot?

That is one sweet icon. Much better than the standard Adobe one, it's more inline with Apples guidelines to.

I personally hate the current hard drive icons. I have downloaded two from xicons that feature the 9 icon for my os9 volume and the current X finder icon, but I would love to see a nice drive icon with 9 over it, casting a shadow on the drive, and X doing the same.

Someone posted a link to some over at the MacNN boards a couple of days ago. They were pretty funny.

I'd like to see a good Aimster icon because the Classic icon looks so bad in the Dock.

I can understand. Variation is a good thing.

This kind of brings me to the conclusion that almost all of the little sections for icon types are just a mixed bag. It would be nicer if you had more categories, like <a href="http://macdesktops.com/"; target="_blank">http://macdesktops.com/</a>; . More, as well as more descriptive categories make it easier to find icons, perhaps sub-categories would be a good concept as well. You could even cross-reference things if applicable. Also what would be nice is if you had numbered pages so you could go between pages and back, and have some idea how many icons are in each category, how many pages, etc. Not hard to do at all with PHP or the like. You've got a great idea, and lots of great icons. *thumbs up*</strong><hr></blockquote>

Actually there are a lot of things like that bugging me about the current design. I plan on rebuilding both the navigation and the look and feel of the site in the near future. And the issues you bring up are on the top of my list.

Unfortunately I'm a little pressed for time lately. I've got two big websites under construction with virtually the same deadline. But you can expect to see a major rework of Xicons just after the first of the year.

Any other suggestions while I'm listening?

I'd be more than happy to feature tutorials on Xicons if some of you are willing to write them. i simply don't have time for it until maybe february, and they would be better coming from the community anyway. There are several different techniques in use out there...

This reminds me, I would love icons from Monsters Inc.

Well, most of the icons for X are pretty cool that are coming out of places like Xicons. The only one that is REALLY bugging me is the 'home' icon, haven't found any cool replacements, so thats the one I'd like please!
