Can someone please post the build number of this release? Apple isnt very good at letting developers know what the final release numbers are.

On my ibook 600 i got a kernel panic at the end of the optimization stage. Scary stuff, considering this was my first kernel panic on this ibook.

OSX is so frustrating as I have yet to bump my ram up to 384 Credit card is maxed out.

    System version = Mac OS X 10.1.2 (5P48)

    Mach kernel version:

    Darwin Kernel Version 5.2:

    Fri Dec 7 21:39:35 PST 2001; root:xnu/xnu-201.14.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC

    And from <a href="http://osx.macnn.com"; target="_blank">osx.macnn.com</a>:

[quote]Apple today announced that several ATI-equipped Macintosh computers <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106154"; target="_blank">will not ever be able to take advantage of OpenGL under Mac OS X</a>. Computers with ATI Rage II+, Rage IIc, Rage Pro, Rage Pro Turbo, Rage LT Pro and Rage Mobility are affected; machines range from the Power Macintosh G3 to the iBook SE. It is likely that thousands of Macintosh users will be affected by this decision. Â*<a href="http://osx.macnn.com/news.php?id=11471"; target="_blank">(7 Comments)</a><hr></blockquote>

How long am I going to have to wait for OS X to feel as fast as OS 9 on my G3/233?

Hiding/Unhiding apps is considerably faster on my machine... Maybe some day we might see a 3rd party implementation of Multiple Desktops...

That sucks. Has Scott H. seen this? He's gonna be pissed.

    Here's a <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106154"; target="_blank">direct link</a> to that KB document.

"Further Mac OS X support for the graphic accelerator chipsets listed above is not planned."
