iPhone 3G Tethering...

Does anyone know if the iPhone 3G is going to allow tethering or not? Here is what I plan to do with it. I plan on having a iPhone 3G tethered to a Mac Mini in my Prius. This would allow my Wife to be connected to the net on her laptop, and my son playing on WiFi on his DS Lite during long road trips.

Anyone have any info on this possibility?

Thanks!!

No tethering. If there was, ATT would be charging $45/month for it, minimum.

You're best option is to wait for someone to create an application that can make your iPhone a WiFi base station, as seen in all Macs today. It'll likely be a non-approved app too. Really, no need to tether. Who knows, maybe Apple has this up their sleeves, but I doubt it.

Also, if you're traveling such a distance that your family needs Internet access, odds are you'll be on an EDGE connection. Won't be pretty, but it's better than nothing. If you need it that much, why not a USB broadband modem?
