PS: I kinda likes this graphic for a Chimera icon:

With a little bit of massaging in GraphicConverter, it will work great in the dock.

Escher, I highly recommend giving the free app Pic2Icon a try. I have already turned some of my pictures into fabulous OS X scaling icons.

Could someone with the latest version (0.1.3) please post it on their iDisk, the Chimera website all day has been giving out about 50 bytes/sec.

Retrograde: I'll give it a try this weekend. I really think it's important for apps to develop recognizable icons, even at the alpha or beta stage.

Yes, the first thing I did, even before launching Chimera for the first time was to copy an icon to it. Unfortunately I was frustrated with its first release as it for some reason wouldn't allow an icon to be copied to it. But subsequent releases gave me no problem. I am now using one of <a href="http://www.pixeljerk.com"; target="_blank">PixelJerk's</a> button icons for Chimera.

I tried to make a chimera icon 2 days ago for myself (though I sent it to Mr Hyatt too). This is an eyeball hanging in a 'C' like a globe, trying to combine 'chimera' (in terms of illusion??) and browsing the internet in one icon. However, if you like it you may download it

I'm using one of the sample icons that came with Iconographer.

I put it on my iDisk, username: quarem.

I thought something beyond 0.1.3 of Chimera would be out by now. When's 0.2 coming?

F.Y.I......Chimera, now called Navigtor version 0.2.0 has just been released. With, are you ready, QUARTZ rendering!!!! And it is still as fast as ever. You can find it on their download page or find it on a site that is mirroring it.... <a href="http://www.ambitiouslemon.com/index.htm"; target="_blank">Chimera, oops.... Navigator Mirror!</a>

    New Icon

    New Splash Screen

    New Widgets

    Quartz!

    Quartz!

    Quartz!

Did I say it is still the fastest out there!

Geez, I just saw that Starfleet X beet me to it and announced it's release in another thread! <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> Well at least I was able to reseruct this thread from the graveyard so we can get the opinions on 0.2.0 out there.

Looks better than 0.1.3, but there is still a lot left to do, like being able to download files.

I'm not sure if I like the anti-aliasing. It seems thicker then the AA used in Omniweb. I wish I had some spare time so I could help out on the Chimera/Navigator project though.
