OS X on Intel? i know, i know, but you gotta read this...

this guy on slashdot claims to have worked at apple and to have seen the port firsthand. interesting read. do we think this is real? doesn't seem like a good lie to throw out there on slashdot where you could get busted very easily.

    It's hard to conclusively bust a claim like "I was a senior software engineer at Apple for four years," but BlueGecko did a pretty good job of casting doubt on his claims.



    I know Apple has had Mac OS running on Intel hardware before (the fabled "Star Trek" project) but that was when Gil Amelio was seriously thinking of turning Mac OS into a funny-looking version of Windows NT. They might still have something going on internally, but if it ever sees the light of day we'll know that Apple has become truly desperate.

    yeah. i remember the star trek project. of course, it would be easier to port os x to intel than os9. regardless, just thought it was an interesting post.
