What about USB Printer Sharing!?!

We have Samba built in, we have AppleTalk, we have everything to connect to the web, network. Apple is advertising heavily on compatibility with everything... but no printer sharing???

The only way to share a printer explained by Apple is by installing OS X Server...

Is it possible? <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" />

You know Apple bought the <a href="http://www.cups.org"; target="_blank">CUPS</a>. It would make and ideal print sharer.

Scott is correct. Printer sharing is one of the items on the list rumored to be "reintroduced" with 10.2.

I'm using, or trying, CUPS on my iMac running Linux. It's nice and I can see how it would work well in a heterogeneous network environment. If Apple just bought into it I'd bet it would take at least 12 months to get an Apple style USB print sharing out of it if at all.
