Would you please post the build number of your 10.5.1 that came on the machine?
To find the build #, go to Apple Menu --> About this Mac --> More Info button. It will bring up System Profiler in a window.
Select "Software" way down on the left. Info will show up at the right. You'll see the build # on the right, to the right-side of "10.5.1".
On my MacBook Pro, the build # is 9B18, which is the original 10.5.1 build.
I want to know if the Mac Pro has the same build #, or requires a more recent one. (Why? I want to know if I can do a straight clone of my laptop's hard drive when my Mac Pro arrives, as this is a lot faster than using migration assistant or installing everything from scratch).
He's lying. No way a dual 3GHz could get anywhere near that.. or even half of that. I would think his shading score would be higher with his 8800 also.
Look more closely. The name of the machine is "Superclock", that should indicate something... it's running at 4.7GHz. Probably liquid-nitrogen cooled.

Its faaakkkeeee! you'd be hard pushed to score even 10,000 on the multiple render even with a 5GHZ Core 2
however the next version of cinebench might be about to be released as Cinema 4d has just been updated to R11 - and one thing it boasts is over 2x the rendering speed - so if the benchmark scene and scoring method stays the same, those might be the actual benchmarks of the new cinebench.

Actually your single CPU score is a hair lower than Spinnerlys and he had the last gen MB at 2.4 gz. I would have thought that it would be the other way around.
Still as you mention your Open Gl score is quite high. Its higher than the OpenGL score I got on my Rev B MBP with the ATI x1600 gpu.
I don't know why it doesn't list the OC speed, but it's at 4.2Ghz. Using a Dark Knight cooler, crucial mem. Total build cost roughly $750. I can only wonder what one with dual physical would get. Probably 45,000? and cost about $1150. But this is fine for me. Also 100% rock solid/stable. Intel is just awesome.

Seems like my MBP is still pretty fast compared to the Penryns.
Wonder how my MBP with the ATI card will compare to the MBP with the Nvidia card. Seems like I've read that those cards aren't that great.
