Any more reason to stick with OS 9?

Not to me anymore



My OS X transition is totally completed



ALL the apps that I use now are OSX native



Now I just can't think of any reason to use that POS OS 9 (except defraggin my HD, booting from the Norton Disk anyway)



I will be dead if I have to go back to use 9 <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" />

    lucky bastard. i'll be stuck here until Director, Dreamweaver, and Quark are OS X native. and until I get a new computer, but that's another problem completely

    You sould try inDesign. I have been playing with it for a few eeks now and it is really nice in OSX. Some odd redraws once and awhile but the intergration with illustrator and photoshop is excellent.



    We are not moving to it yet. But we will.



    I have to stay in OS9 for much of my computing because once and awhile I need a classic app. and OSX running classic crashes on an NT server. OSX in carbon... no problem, OSX running classic apps... constant finder, app and classic crashes.



    Until they fix it or we completely get rid of ALL classic apps then I am stuck in full go OS9.







    except at home were I am OSX.

    It pains me to boot back into Mac OS 9. After using X full time since December, I've really grown to love everything a modern operating system has to offer. I can't believe I used to actually... use 9. Mac OS 9 is a dinosaur, good riddance to it

    The copy that sits on my Mac is only for creating projectors

    i've thought about it, but right now, i can't really justify the cost, besides lately i've been stuck in director/dreamweaver land, and both of those are coming soon. (or so i hear)

    We have to. Director is a real money robber.



    You need the Mac version of the app to create the Mac version of project, same to Windows. So basically you need to have BOTH to make a cross-platform CD-ROM.

    Yeah, I'm still using a powermac 8600/200. In fact, I'm running 8.6.



    I'm not buying a Powermac until they come with DDR memory.



    OS X looks great and I believe it'll just get faster and better as future versions are released. And I also believe many of the classic mac features people miss will come back in one form or another in these future versions.

    yeah, i still don't understand why they do this. i refuse to believe that they couldn't find a way to make a mac version create a pc projector. i mean come on. but then again, if i could charge people twice for the same product (esp if it costs as much as director) i probably would to.

    Still on OS9, very happy and not planning to switch. In a few years time I will form the OS9 diehards society for all us hardcore OS9 users.



    No seriously, I have not booted into X for a couple of months now. Everything works so well for me in 9

    just like there are die-hard Amiga users...

    just like there are die-hard BeOS users...

    Still on OS9 and loving it!



    I'll consider switching when the next version of OS X is released and after I've had a chance to read about how it performs on older G4 systems (so don't be shy with the reviews ).



    My current set-up does everything I need it to do, so I'm not in a hurry to switch. I'm also not in a hurry to shell out anymore $$$ to Quark for another half-a$$ed upgrade--if they ever decide to join the rest of the world and come out with an OS X native version of XPress, that is. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    I never even open Classic anymore. I've got Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, FCP, FireWorks, Flash, and Dreamweaver (though I hate to admit it; I'm most of the time vehemently anti-WYSIWYG webdesign). I'd like to be able to play with QuarkXPress and Adobe Premiere, though.

    For work stuff I am still on 9, and will be so for some time to come. I have never really had any problems with 9, you see.



    In my spare time I dabble with X on a different machine, and have yet to be bowled over. For one thing, it's just not snappy enough
