I have iTunes 8 and HAD limewire on my iMac. I got rid of limewire after my iTunes started locking up everytime I open it. I then deleted all the files I downloaded with limewire....didn't fix it. So I trashed itunes and re-installed it. That didn't work either. Any suggestions?

Grab Onyx 1.9.9 (utility app) run clean all temp files as Limewire puts a few around.
do a deep cache clean, uodate launch services database
Restart
Repair the permission just to be sure.
Lets know what happens
