I've heard that OS X has a built-in firewall. Is this true? Does this mean that I don't need to purchase a commercial firewall, e.g., Net Barrier. I have a cable modem and a iMac SD.
Thanks. Seems odd to me though that Apple wouldn't take the final step and attach a GUI to the built-in firewall. Maybe they figure that it is safer that non-technical people like me don't muck around with the firewall settings and the best way of avoiding this is to not implement a GUI.

You can configure it through little text files and the terminal, but if you want a GUI front-end, I strongly recommend BrickHouse.
Thanks. Do I still need to purchase a firewall like NetBarrier, or is the built-in firewall (via Brickhouse) sufficient?
