Software base station for Airport?

Odd...no mention of a software base station for Airport. Looks like Jobs wants people to buy the hardware from now on.



Any chance that Jaguar has it but Jobs forgot to mention it?

    You can configure one from the CLI with 10.1.

    Right. That means that it would be even easier for Apple to implement it in OS X.



    I don't use Airport myself, but for those who do a software base station is a big plus. And remember that most Mac users don't want to fu[k with the terminal. I would, but many wouldn't. It's a feature that would help Apple sell more Macs, IMO.

    or you can use Brickhouse to do the same thing, and think brickhouse a just a GUI for the CLI

    Does Rendezvous fit the bill to some extent?

    I don't think Rendezvous includes a software base station.
