More for Jaguar?

Well, the presentation has come and gone and we now see a glimmer of what Jaguar will be. But is that all? I mean...10.2 isn't being released until September (I think). So was the product that Steve Jobs showed on Monday a sneak peak to something more?
There's a part of me (a rumor hunter) that says that this isn't all that's in the pipeline. And I base this on a few things that have been hinted on in the past. At the end of this is also the mandatory wild prediction...but I'll get to that soon. First...let's look at past announcements:
1) Quicktime 6: Phil Schiler and Steve Jobs both announced that it is coming (my guess is come hell or high water). That in itself is impressive....but the part that caught my attention was the brodcaster application. This along with MPEG 4 could be very useful.
2) At the shareholders meeting that took place a short time ago, a question was asked as to what Apple is doing about video conferencing. Steve Jobs went into a rant (from what I gathered) about how bad the situation is in the industry.
Now most people would automatically take these two instances and put them together. Broadcaster + Video Conferencing....no brainer. But the interesting thing is that none of this was brought up at the Developers conference.....except for the possibilities of iChat. Although this application in itself is impressive....could Apple not do more with this application (i.e. - integrate brodcaster). Not only that....with inkwell, you have a very high end video conferencing/chat program. On top of that...throw on integration with address book....and well it's a regular communication powerhouse. Now what I just went over leads to my "wild prediction".
Take all of what I just mentioned above and bring in the "wild" rumors of a tablet/pda system that have been flying around (especially with the inkwell announcement).....throw in airport (or bluetooth)......WOW. A portable communications juggernaut! Something that would surpass the "average" PDA system....just as the iPod surpassed the MP3 player.

I hope that Jaguar will be better than classic in any aera. It's not the case alredy, os X is great but lack of drivers and is slow.

Don't know about the rant part, but seeing as the QuickTime team had QT6 done a little while ago I would guess that they are working on something. I would assume that they will use QT6 and broadcaster to accomplish this.
They are not suppose go into details of actual iApp's, just the technology behind them and Steve did talk about QuickTime 6, and Broadcaster, yet he did not go into detail on the application, just said it would be in Jaguar.
Macworld NY we will see iChat in much greater detail...

Think about it: Most people I know is on a ADSL or similar connection and with tools like those build into the OS one of the future senarios of what computers can do for us will be here now: All people present despite where you are in the world.</strong><hr></blockquote>
When I had been working on Mac OS X prior to release, and Address Book was a separate application from Mail, I could not believe it. I had no idea why Apple would do such a thing, but now all the pieces are coming together.
Imagine, if iChat had these capabilities what it could do for business! the dead parot is right on track, I mean why wouldn't Apple put these two pieces together? It would be such an obvious thing to integrate. And this kind of feature, may be Macintosh only and you have to use a mac.com account (or Rendezvous)...
Again...I'm thinking along the wild ipad idea, how a cam might be used in such a device? If not in the pad device...then maybe an apple peripheral?
Apple will be one to watch within the next couple of months that's for sure

Yelling deserves an excl. pt. or capitalized letters. Everyone knows I am referring to iChat's "Brushed Metal" interface.
If the patent licensing issue can be worked out before July, I think we'll see a video-conferencing iApp unveiled with the new Power Macs with Jaguar.
