I happened over to spymac.com and in none of the Finder snapshots showing the hide/reveal-style "Show Info" is there a Comments field!

Is that gone from Jaguar's Finder??

What ELSE has gone missing? Will it be back?

I saw a screenshot with the comment field in the 'Show Info' window yesterday...it's there, don't worry. I'll try to find it again...and post it up here.

No, the Comments field really does seem to be missing.

The "hide extension" for System Filename field seems to be missing.

This plus all removal of any traces of OS 9-style labels...

And the recent hiring of BeOS file system guru Dominic Giampaolo...

Make you wonder what's in the pipeline for metadata..

It's still there, but apparently only non-bundle files can take comments.

I've seen screenshots with this checkbox under the filename. Doesn't seem to show up for some files/folders/bundles though. Check SPyMac, I know I've seen it there.

I'm running 10.2 WWDC now. You can add comments to any file (doesn't have to be a bundle) & bundles just not folders. I bet spymac had old build photos.

Thanks. That's *very* weird. I think Apple's overdoing these reveal/hide arrows in dialogs.

Doesn't removal imply some sort of presence in the first place? Since when did OS X have labels?
