MacMall
I ordered a MacBook Pro and several of the "Free" after rebate items yesterday. Today I see postings about rebate ripoffs by MacMall. What has been your experience with this store?http://forums.appleinsider.com/image.../1confused.gif

Personally, I wish they'd skip the "rebates" and just give you the discount at the time of purchase... but I suppose they're hoping some percentage of buyers will "forget" to mail it in.
I am going to mail it return receipt requested so they cant claim to have never received it.
I've made several of that type of purchase from them over the last decade or so... and never had a problem. Rebates take forever to get paid (couple months maybe?) but they do get paid.

Vendors don't have to hope that some percentage of their customers won't file for a rebate, because they have the facts on it. Overall, 40% do not file for their rebate, netting 2 billion annually for the vendors.

I bought my MBP last year from MacMall. The rebate checks arrived in 4 weeks.

I can't say if that's typical of MacMall, or not, as I haven't dealt with them in several years. But, you can bet that there are a lot of folks that waited longer, or that didn't get the rebates at all. My last rebates came from Apple, and I had them in hand 3-4 days after the purchase! Too bad all rebates aren't that fast.
