MacBookPro2,2 can now access 4GB instead of 3 GB

Just upgrade my MacBookPro2,2 to 4 GB thinking it would only access 3.2 GB but it's accessing all 4GB via System Profiler and Activity Monitor. Could the 10.6 update have anything to do with it or am I missing something?

Just to get this straight... if your MBP has the "Santa Rosa" chipset, then system profiler would have already showed 4GB RAM before the 10.5.6 update... that is most likely the case.

I put 4GB RAM in the first MBP released and it showed 4GB.

You can put 4GB in a Mac mini, and it will show up as 4GB in the 'About This Mac' window, but you will only actually get the use of 3GB.

    Perhaps it's the same thing?
