Workstrip for OS X has just been released, and I love it!! I had nothing against the dock, but this is so much better. Imagine the dock, dragthing and drop drawers in one, and then some. You're able to preview everything (pictures/movies/html/flash/gifs) from a popup menu now, and every icon has it's own drawer in which you can store files and folders you need to access often for that application. It also has vitual workspaces.

Here are some pictures, but they don't really do this app justice:

    I tried it out and is is quite nice. It's full of all sorts of useful features, but, it seems that you can't minimize windows into it, so you have to run your dock in addition to this. It would be nice if Apple would put some of these features into the Dock, or if softchaos would put all the features of the Dock into Workstrip X. I also couldn't seem to easily rearrange the items in Workstrip. But if you have a huge display and can afford to run a dock and Workstrip together than it would be very useful. I'll just stick with the Dock for now.

    I haven't used it, but it looks very, very cool. Pity it's only a 30-day trial.

    EDIT: Tried it. Great, but without minimizing, unusable. Windowshading sucks. If it minimized, I'd use it. Right-clicked control menus like the dock would be nice too.

    Some people might not know of another totally-cool Mac OS X utility: System Manager

    <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14227&db=mac"; target="_blank">http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14227&db=mac</a>;

    It shows the system, memory, cpu, network and classic load in detail.

    Then I right-clicked the dock icon. Start up classic, uptime, your computer's IP addys, processes, system preferences list. A must have.

    I see you use AlumiteX. Cool theme, funny spelling. Been using it for a few weeks now.

    Just mailed some suggestions to softchaos, including those mentioned above. Any feedback I'll get I'll post here.

    I know have the dock hidden on the left-hand side, and use Workstrip full time now. In fact, I just bought it. Yep, that's how much I like it

    AlumiteX is the best OS X theme imho. It's cool looking and doesn't destract when doing design work!
