Jaguar not before Aug 30

Just received the offer below from Apple Dev Support. The wording is a strong indication that Jaguar is not slated for release before the end of Aug, because afterwards the "seed" would be worthless.

Dear Developer,

The next major release of Mac OS X (codenamed "Jaguar") is coming

soon [..].

Until the next release of Mac OS X ships, however, only ADC Select

and Premier members are eligible to purchase access to WWDC 2002

Sessions on ADC TV and DVD-ROM.

This was expected. Jaguar will probably be released on September 10th at Apple Expo Paris. I think Steve would rather show up to Apple Expo Paris than Seybold, especially after cancelling his appearance last September for obvious reasons.

Perhaps they'll do what was planned last year. Jobs in Paris and Schiller at Seybold with Jobs appearing over satellite.

i think that you might be adding 2 and 2 and getting 5. the way that i read it, since only select and premium members have access to the wwdc jag sessions dvd, apple is trying to sweeten the pot in order to get as many organizations to become at least select members. this would create a greater pool of developers ready to take advantage of any new technologies (that would require an nda until they are released). as with all special offers, a time limit is just a fact of life. in order to come to the same conclution as you, i would have to believe that the bundle would lose it's value (become worthless as you put it) after jag's release. i don't believe this since i'm sure there is more to the bundle than what you posted.

Just because the deal ends on Aug. 30th means nothing to the actual ship date of the OS. Why would it? It's just some development information?

Because after Jaguar is released you can just walk into you next Apple store and buy the OS and development information you are getting ahead of time with the package.

The point is not the WWDC DVDs - the point is the seed version which will be of no value after release.

Jaguar isn't due until the "end of summer". And the end of summer is in september.

There will surely be a monster preview - probably comprable to WWDC, only available to the public.
