If i have a separate folder with an alias to another folder and I put a file in there, will it transport that file to the other folder? if not, will the other folder know about the new file?

That question wasn't worded very well... I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. An alias is simply a pointer to something. So if you double click an alias, it will open the original. So if you copy a file into a folder alias, the file will be in the original folder. The alias simply redirects you to the original, it's not a folder in and of itself.

    i had a feeling i didn't word it so great, but my meal was cookin' & i didn't want to re-read * re-edit

now that i'm not hungry anymore.........

thanks for the answer, that's what i was looking for.

If I created a folder alias, would dropping a file into the alias would place that file to where that alias is pointed at .

[i don't think that was worded great either, but oh well ]
