    Is that specific to the 17" model or does it affect the 15" too?

    At this stage it's only starting to appear in the 17"s from what I gather. Because the 15" has been out for a while and the biggest complaint so far is the alleged flaky wireless.

    its amazing that Apple does so well in its customer satisfaction surveys with this kiind of stuff going on. Maybe people don't always tell the truth??

    "Of course, a savvy consumer will choose which laptop to buy based on a combination of reliability, features and price," notes Thomas. "It's important that your laptop be reliable, but you don't want to sacrifice the rest of the package in the process."

    When Apple's obsession with silence keeps fan speeds too low, stuff is bound to overheat. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if Apple put more prototypes in the hands of more testers before release, but the company's obsession with secrecy prevents that.



    It has happened before and it will happen again.
