Software Update

When I use the software updater on my mac the bar goes maybe over to about 10% complete and then stops dead.

I added a new identity and gave admin rights to this identity and it works fine.

Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong with my original identity????

    Permissions could be out of whack. Have you tried repairing them?

    Try repairing both your permissions and your disc. I've heard similar problems about stopping at 50% and being dead. Try it and report back.

    Goto Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.



    Click on the volume, then the repair tab, the click "repair permissions"
