I just noticed, when you empty the trash in X you get the little puff of dust. (like pig pen from peanuts).

The newton used to do this am I right ?

Where do you see a puff of dust?

    I see none.

Or are you referring to the puff when you drag an item off of the dock?

yeah, johnrp is referring to the standard "poof" when you drag an alias (?) off the dock to remove it. and yes, that (oh, and ink) are remnants of the good ol' newton os.

The dock itself seems to be something of an adaptation of the newton's 'dock'. I'm not sure what it's called on the newt, but there is a toolbar at the bottom (or top or sides) of the screen that you could drag applications to for quick access.

    And perhaps the biggest thing...

Centralized data that any app could access and use. (LDAP -> Address Book/Mail/iCal/iChat)

The Newton called it 'soup', but it's essentially the same thing. I think that, with a rich meta-data underlayer, we're going to see the rebirth of this concept.

Yeah sorry Guys, the "poof" only happens when you drag something from the dock (probably why it took so long for me to notice it).
