Don't shout heathan yet. I remember on some spots on the Apple sites I still saw OS 9 buttons. I can't remeber them for the ell of me. Then again this was a few months ago.

    From Accelerate Your Mac:

    Â*

Reader Notes iBook Just Received from Apple Store included 10.2 CDs - (from a reader email today)

"Hello, I just wanted to email you to let you know I encountered something rather interesting. My brother received his new iBook today from Apple, and upon opening it there it was a packet with a giant Furred X on it. Mac OS X 10.2, the upgrade CDs. The machine itself was running 10.1.4, apparently Apple is throwing in the upgrade CDs with new machines.

Jaguar consists of 2 upgrade CDs, one is apparently the system, the other

    the new Applications.

    It's fast...super fast.

    Cheers,

    Christopher Joy"

Hmmm, can we say early release like Amazon UK predicted. August 13th along with across the board revision of the Pro line. Finally, Apple may surprise us with good news.

There was also a post at the MacAddict forums that someone got a 17" iMac running 10.1.5 with the Jaguar CDs.

ConmpUSA and other retailers will have it available for sale August 23 at midnight. There will be no authorized early release for the packaged Jaguar. Apple is making sure there will be plenty of product on the shelves for the 24th. Amazon US is not mailing out product until that Saturday. Of course if you order an iBook or iMac from the Apple store there's a good possibility you'll get Jaguar CDs (as some people are starting to report).

Has anybody compared the performance of finished jaguar vs the jaguar with debug code?

It seems to me that if they if they have enough CDs generated to offer Jaguar on the new Powermacs that ship in 1-3 days, they should be shipping out the copies we ordered almost a month ago soon as well --- or perhaps they really put their pro customers / new hardware purchasers that far above upgrading customers. I dunno. But it would be really nice to get it sooner.

This is getting annoying. If it's ready, why not ship it?

I wish someone would create burnable disk images and post 'em online for those who have ordered and are being delayed. It's not fair to keep paying customers waiting.

I totally agree. If we ordered it why do we have to wait when people buying computers before the 24th get it?

OK, since all of us here have ordered Jaguar, I have a question about Carracho. I'd like to take a stab at downloading Jaguar, but the "agreements" that many servers have are a little unnerving (backup purposes only, etc). Does anyone know of a server where I can get it without uploading, and without that uneasy feeling about it?
