Recommendation req: Font management
I've never been a big fan of Suitcase, as it has always struck me as being extremely intrusive and virtually impossible to uninstall completely.
I suspect that a lot of people simply install the program and never read the instructions from end to end. I'm not keen on a program where you have to go in to system folders manually and start deleting files.
After arguing about this at length with another freelancer, who insisted that he had never had any problems, I decided (against my gut instinct) to do a system rebuild and give Suitcase another go. I followed the instructions to the letter, and low and behold, it hosed the entire system! Thanks...
At the moment I'm using Apples own Font Book, but I'm interested to hear any feedback that you guys might have about:
Linotype Font Xplorer Pro
Fontcase

I am not a Suitcase user. I use FontExplorer X Pro primarily as a front-end to the Linotype font store. Having said that, Suitcase has been around since something like 1922. If it had any serious problems, then you wouldn't have to ask people on a fansite about them. They would be all over the computer press--if the product were still on the market. You will always find somebody somewhere who has some silly-a$$ reason for disliking just about anything. Suitcase is no different. However, Suitcase is the font-management utility.
That's the free version even, I haven't use the pro version. I used to like suitcase, but that font limit did it for me and I haven't looked back.
